I would like to regrettably inform everyone that M/Y Vanguard II, has gone down / sank off the coast of Great Orme, on June 1, 2026 in the early hours of the morning. Marine accident department are involved at this time. She’s in a position now that, she can be salvaged either where she lays on the rocks, or she will be removed by the local HM Harbor Master’s office, where she lays – her hull has breached. I was joined by a member of the public, named Neil, who helped me get the important belongings off of M/Y Vanguard II, and was able to recover my keys, and was able to lock up M/Y Vanguard II, some clothes, life jackets. Everything else, has Sea Water damages on-board.
What Happened Exactly, Before the Opinionated News Reporters:
I was attempting to moor Vanguard II alongside Conwy County’s Jetty near Conwy Marina, using the center mooring rope, as I was trying to attempt this Vanguard II, was being taken away by the swell, and tide rushing back out of Conwy River, and the rope had come out of my hand and cleat. And she was gone. Vanguard II’s fuel tanks feed has been turned off, and electricals, to prevent any fires, or ignition.
As there is a saying: “never give up the ship” unfortunately, as the severe damages to M/Y Vanguard II. Vanguard II will now be given up, and us sailors will never give up our darkest hour, and I especially won’t listen to family members who make snotty little comments “Give up the boats!”, I will never give up sailing or boating, period. As my dad was a sailor, many family friends are sailors, and I will not give up, period.
